Theresa Goesling is an International Workshop Instructor and Award winning Northwest Artist. When Theresa is not plein air painting abroad, she begins each day painting from the tranquil setting of her Lake Sammamish home studio in Washington State. Theresa has been teaching in Tuscany & Provence for 4 years and enjoys teaching students of all ages and abilities. She currently teaches locally at her home studio, Bellevue, WA. “I enjoy passing on my creativity and artistic design knowledge to others.” Theresa’s workshops have all been “sold out” and she is again looking forward to teaching Artist Workshops in Italy in 2008/2009 with colleague & friend Cindy Briggs. Theresa artistic abilities have been influenced by her artistic family. “Growing up with art surrounding me has influenced my ability to always be thinking creatively.” Her artistic path naturally lead her to studying fine arts and design at the University of Washington and the Art Institute of Seattle. Theresa has 20 years combined experience in art and art direction. Theresa worked in fashion advertising as a Catalogue Art Director in New York and Chicago for Charles Stevens Company and in Redmond, WA for Eddie Bauer. She has studied under top artists, Bill Cummings, Eric Wiegardt, Donna Watson, Teresa Saia, Jean Grastorf, Linda Doll, Jan Kunz, Stephen Quiller, Frank Webb and Alvaro Castagnet. Theresa incorporates the graphic principles of design with the spirited energy of the pigments to create unusual works of art. Taking on the challenging media of watercolor is a highlight in her artistic career. Theresa works in a variety of media as her artful designs depict a particular subject. Take a look through Theresa’s Gallery Page to see her glowing watercolors, playful collages and sophisticated oils. Theresa’s paintings make a unique gift. There is usually a whimsical surprise awaiting in Theresa’s paintings. You might walk by her paintings once, only to discover when you walk by a second time that there is something unique hidden within. Theresa’s even personalizes her commissioned paintings with the clients personal touches. Such as a the street name might be your own last name or your family is picnicking in the grass. It’s a very subtle touch and it makes her paintings unique. She will even turn her paintings into greeting cards for you. She and her holiday greeting cards will be featured in the November 2007 issue of 425 Magazine. Theresa is affiliated with many art groups including: Signature Member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, Eastside Association of Fine Arts, Associate Member of the National Watercolor Society, Associate Member of the American Watercolor Society. She is a 2006 recipient of the Daler-Rowney National Award from the Northwest Watercolor Society. Theresa is currently a Guild Member of Bellevue Art Museums Potpourri Guild. As a mother of four daughters her art parallels way she leads her life. “Life and art should be spontaneous and bright and I am truly an optimist.” Evidently, there are many people who have similar responses to Goesling’s work. Her paintings are held in collections of top Microsoft Executives, NBA Basketball Players to corporate collections, such as the Junior League of Seattle Northwest Art Collection and Swedish Hospital. Her work has sold through Galleries in New Mexico, Oregon, Idaho and Washington. Her paintings have been juried as Poster Art for National art shows and has won numerous top awards. Her work has been featured in the King County Journal, Everett Herald, Seattle Times/PI, Cascade Arts & Entertainment and 425 Magazine. |
